God is Love, and you are loved by God no matter what you do, have done, or will do. There is nothing that can separate you from God's love. He knows every deepest, darkest secret and mistake you have/will make and he STILL chooses YOU!
My hope is that when you think of God, you instantly think of love, but if not, I hope you'll give this mentality a shot.
God's love is unlike anything we know, or have felt, in this Earthly life, but the more you get to know God, read His words in the Bible, and look for him working in your life, the more you'll see how deep his love for you really is.
Just as parents disciple children, out of love, God redirects our paths and shuts doors we wanted to be opened. While we may not like this and feel that it is unfair, during dark and painful times, if you'll allow him, God does the most incredible work in us and through us. After all, he doesn't direct us into these situations that cause us pain, we take ourselves there. He helps us out. Many people see this as discipline out of his anger, and while we certainly should fear God, this fear shouldn't be out of fear of punishment.
Due to our human nature, we tend to think we know what is best for our lives, but God hand-crafted every single one of us and has a birdseye view, beginning to end, of our lives. Only He can know what we need and what is best for us. The greatest work done in my own personal life, has been during the darkest, most painful situations I've been in. The periods of life that I've never felt more alone, more insignificant, and more sad. I can truly look back and thank him for those periods of my life. Without those situations, I would never be as mentally healthy, strong, confident and mostly importantly absolutely obsessed with God.
Watching him work in my own life, and the life of my family, is single handedly my most favorite thing. God is incredible. He's funny. He's so creative, and He shows up in BIG ways, in the smallest of things. He is everywhere. Luck doesn't exist, it's a always God and his incredible love for you.
Below are verses of his love and how we, as Christian's, are called to love others. There's so many more I could include (and I'll probably add asi have time). I hope you know how loved you are by God, and how much he wants and longs for a deep and intimant relationship with you.
